This tract, CAT15 The Sexual Immorality of the Catholic Clergy, deals with the fatal errors in Roman Catholic practice and doctrine requiring their priests and ministers to be celibate. THEMES: Husband of One Wife | @No to Celibacy | Do not be a Fornicator | Pedophilia is an Abomination | Homosexuality is an Abomination | A Family Man | The Problem behind Immorality

1Tim 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife…

The Catholic Church is constantly in scandal because of its priests and archbishops and sexual affairs with its members. There is a cause for this, and there is a divine defense against this, and the Catholic Church refuses to hear it because they do not follow the Bible by their decision. In this booklet, we want to examine this, and the deeper problem behind this.

Husband of One Wife

1Tim 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife…

Simply put, the Bible compels a man to be married to a woman BEFORE he is fit to enter the ministry, especially in the ministry of church oversight. This is because, in the couple relationship, the man has to learn how to love someone by sacrificing his life for the benefit of the other.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

First, without wanting to be offensive, God’s requirement for a minister in charge of a church is that the minister has first learned to lose his own interests in his love relationship with others. Singles can learn this (and they should), but only in the constant sacrifice and service of a marriage (living together as a man and a woman in the bond of marriage) can his character be developed so that one can lead the church of God. God imposes this requirement on the minister before holding the office of a church.

In order to grasp the divine concept of “pastor” well, many people will complain that it is impossible to live the norms of God. They are going to say that we accept situations much less than the norms that God demands. Jesus Christ came and lived by the power of the Holy Spirit (equally available to us) and did not sin. This should be the only option we accept. But they will complain that Jesus is God, so it does not count. Here enters the pastor of each church. Pastors have to live a life free of obvious sin and faults. (We are all sinners, but it is possible for one to live a holy life.) Then the pastor (and his leaders with him) can live saintly, and they must if they accept the position of leadership of a church. The pastor or bishop (bishop means supervisor) with the deacons (who are elders of the church) are the only ones we see as officers in the New Testament church.

Second, we have to discard the idea that women can be pastors, or homosexual marriages are acceptable.

1Tim 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife…

The pastor / bishop (1) has to be masculine, a male (2) he has to be married, (3) he has to be married to a woman, (4) he has to be married to only one woman. Additionally, he has to be “irreproachable” which means that he has to have a good testimony so people cannot legitimately accuse him with faults and shortcomings. So, he also cannot be divorced. If a couple comes to the pastor wanting a divorce, and the pastor insists that they do not, that they solve their problems, they are going to complain that divorce was the exit he chose, then why cannot they do it too?

The Catholic Church has made this deviation to be the rule among them. God imposes conditions and rules to solve problems before they arise, and Catholicism condemns their ministers to labor without this divine help. Note that a male minister will have to advise and deal with women, single women and others with relationships with their spouses. A married pastor can enter this part of the ministry with his wife at his side to help him, and sometimes, even she can counsel women alone. But a single priest does not have these resources. Priests and nuns (unmarried as well) will not have any idea how to advise marriage problems and neither single priests.

Matt 8:14 And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. Mark 1:30; Luke 4:38.

If Catholics believe that Peter was the first pope, and the Bible says that Peter was married in order to have a mother-in-law, then why do not priests get married today like Peter? The Catholic Church promulgated the law of celibacy for its ministers in 1139 at the Council of the Letran.

 “No” to Celibacy

Matt 19:12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

The Bible DOES NOT SAY that singles cannot minister. There is also no obligation that people HAVE TO MARRY in order to serve God. In fact, he recommends those who can to dedicate themselves to his life to serve the Lord without marrying. But what it says is that singles are not qualified to have the main burden of a church. There are even groups of priests in the Catholic Church that are allowing priests to marry.

1Cor 7:7 For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that. 8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. 9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

It is not a sin to be single, but in what concerns the ministry, there are jobs and ministries that singles should not enter because of their lack of personal experience (in marriage and children). Only married people should deal with these things!

Do not be a Fornicator

1Cor 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

First, we clarify that adultery is the breaking of one’s responsibility with his partner with whom he married. It is very specific, and it is a loyalty, as it should be between a Christian and God (Pro 2:16-18). Romantic interest (emotional and especially sexual) in others when you have a spouse is a sin. You can have friends and you must have friends of both sexes, but there are limits to how friendly we can be with other people. Nothing sexual is permitted! Second, fornication is a very broad concept. It speaks of adultery, and of two singles doing sexual relations, and it can extend to homosexuality, pedophilia, bestiality, and other sexual perversions.

The Catholic Church has made famous the sexual scandals between its priests and the people, especially the pedophilia and homosexuality of its priests. This has been famously ignored or undertreated. All this could be restrained with simply following what the Bible says.

Pedophilia is an Abomination

Matt 18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. 6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!  The person who abuses a child must have an especially severe punishment from the Lord.

Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

An adult normally loves a child. A shepherd always loves his sheep. When a minister abuses a member of his church, this minister has no natural affection as he should have. It is an extreme abomination.

Homosexuality is an Abomination

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

When a man and a woman have sex and are not married to each other it is a sin. But homosexuality is an abomination beyond a normal sin. Each person who does this hurts their own self. It is a perversion. Pedophilia is likewise a dangerous abomination.

Heb 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. (lifestyle)

It is both funny and sad to see that the Catholic priests firmly grasp that they are the ones who speak the word of God to their followers, but then when they speak of their behavior, they are detached from being any example. The Bible demands that those who preach God’s principles have to live for them and be personal examples of them.

A Family Man

1Tim 3:4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

God requires that every minister (pastor or bishop) must be married, AND HAVE CHILDREN under control. Although we also apply that does not mean that they never sin, but they have more or less a good example of Christian life. God demands the experience of @GOVERNING” BEFORE being a pastor or in charge of a church. What a man learns to manage his own family well is exactly what he needs to govern the church.

The Problem behind Immorality

There are bases that cause these problems, and in this case, the most profound cause in the case of Catholicism is that Catholics have denigrated the authority of the Scriptures with their own “wisdom.” They propose that their discernment is superior to what the Bible simply says. A second problem is that they leave the biblical authority of the concepts of the leaders of the Church, leaving “Pastor” and “Bishop” to use “priest”, and in the process, making their own concepts of who should be a minister in a church.

Rom 2:6 Who (God) will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:  8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

The Catholic Church opposes the Word of God for allowing and covering the immorality of its ministers, covering up their sins.
