pc85 Carl Jung and Psychology explains the origin of Psychology with spiritist Jung, which had contact with a spiritual guide.
We explain that Carl Jung was a spiritist, as were his parents (father was a pastor of a spiritist church). The spirit guide Philemon appeared to Jung at age 3, and over time, Philemon gave Jung all of his concepts which he later made into "psychology". Jung is known as the founder or creator of psychology. Psychology is not a science because its data is not testable, but rather opinions. There are no clean experiments that give unequivocal yes or no results. The results they claim in one set of experiments do not unilaterally give the same results when independent groups do the same experiments. Psychology is a doctrine of Demons, 1 Timothy 4:1, and Christians have to reject it, and denounce it.

Missionary on Furlough Spiritual Needs is an article by David Cox (veteran missionary) to help pastors and missionaries understand missionary needs.
Excerpt: When a pastor "takes in a missionary on deputation or furlough", he ministers to that missionary.... Pastors also need this encouragement as much as missionaries need it. When they get together to fellowship, they are able to encourage one another. Have you ever wondered why God used the illustration of a shepherd, rather than that of a cowboy? The reason lies in their differences. Their way of dealing with the animals is distinct. They reflect character differences that God wants to teach us. Lordship is an issue in leadership, and shepherds are humble examples rather than high exalted lords (like cowboys sitting high on tall horses). Shepherds are examples that cause a following. Cowboys push, prode, hurt, and only through that get anything done.

Excerpt: Let's make the observation that the concept of a "pastor" is a verb. It means a person who takes spiritual care of people as a shepherd takes physical care of sheep. The word nor concept of "cowboy" ever occurs in the Bible. The difference of concepts is great between the two. See ch51 Cowboys versus Shepherds. Part of the problem here is that bad pastors are usually great, dynamic public relations people who know how to emotionally work people to get what they want. Excellent pastors follow Jesus and are meek and humble of spirit, so they don't toot their own horns.
